“A great read.”
Keddie Hughes third novel is her best yet. A real page turner as the unusual plot draws the reader into the life of the strong female protagonist, Effie. A great read. Recommended. Looking forward to Ms Hughes next novel!

“Tense plot!”
Keddie Hughes has smashed it. In this, their latest novel, Dark Loch. The writing is full of tense plot lines, driven at great pace. Set in Scotland, I enjoyed a thoroughly good read right until the very last page.

“Another excellent read.”
Another excellent and enjoyable read - Best one yet from this author in my opinion. Now being passed around the family as we did with the previous Keddie Hughes novels!

“A haunting story, beautifully written.”
Full of twists and turns this haunting story kept me guessing until the end, and stayed with me long after I'd finished reading.

“A brilliant read”
This is story telling at its best. An intriguing tale of the relationship between a man and woman who are growing apart, but only one of them is aware of it. This book has it all. Love, family, politics, and football! A brilliant read.

“Couldn’t put it down.”
A book that kept me curled up, in my armchair, for hours. I really enjoyed the cast of characters – they were all so individual and real. It’s a rare skill for a writer to make me relate to a character that I disliked. More please!

“Highly recommended.”
This is a pacey page with believable characters and intriguing plot. Fans of Peter May's Lewis trilogy and Ann Cleeves Shetland series would do well to add Keddie Hughes to their reading list. Highly recommended.

“Helter Skelter of a book.”
A smashing read. I found it hard to put this book down. The author steers us into the charming world of Dougie McKinnon. Powerful stuff. I was left feeling that I wouldn't mind an adventure with Dougie myself. Thoroughly good read.
