How I Spend My Writing Day

Morning Routine: The Foundation of Creativity

My writing day begins with a steaming cup of tea, the gentle hum of the morning, and a moment of stillness. I believe in starting my day on a peaceful note, setting the tone for a day filled with creativity and productivity. By 9 a.m., I’m settled in my writing nook, ready to dive into the world I’m creating.

Afternoon: The Heart of Writing

Post-lunch hours are when my creativity truly peaks. This is the time I dedicate solely to writing, letting my imagination run wild across the pages. I often find myself lost in the narrative, with time slipping away unnoticed.

  • Writing Sprints: I use 25-minute focused intervals, followed by short breaks. This technique, known as the Pomodoro Technique, keeps my mind fresh and ideas flowing.
  • Walks in Nature: A brief walk in the garden helps me clear my mind and often sparks new ideas.
  • Reading: I spend at least 30 minutes reading. It’s both a joy and a study in craft.

Evening: Reflection and Planning

As the day winds down, I review what I’ve written, making notes for the next day. This reflection time is crucial for maintaining continuity and momentum in my writing.
