Discovering Emily

A Stroll Down Memory Lane

It was during a quiet walk through the old, cobbled streets of my hometown that I first ‘met’ Emily, the protagonist of my latest novel. There was something about the way the evening sun cast shadows over the ancient buildings that brought her to life in my mind.

Character Development: A Deep Dive

Developing Emily’s character was an intricate process:

  • Backstory: I spent days crafting her past, ensuring it was rich with experiences that shaped her personality.
  • Strengths and Flaws: It was important that Emily was relatable; her strengths had to inspire, and her flaws had to evoke empathy.
  • Voice: Finding Emily’s unique voice was a journey in itself, one that involved writing numerous diary entries in her perspective.

Why Emily?

Emily represents resilience and hope. Her story, set against a backdrop of mystery and adventure, is a testament to the human spirit’s ability to overcome.
